Who Let The Dogs Out - 2013 TV appearance

On Fri. Feb. 8, 2013, Jasmine and I appeared on Season 2 of "Who Let The Dogs Out"!  :)

This was a REALLY fun episode for me to watch- because it brought back all my memories from my trip to BlogPaws!   Jasmine and I met up with our best friends Lauren and Paige in Salt Lake City.  And there we taught a class on "How To Make Your Dog A YouTube Rockstar."  (Basically teaching about YouTube.)  This was a pet social media convention, so we learned all kinds of things.

Jaz posing for the cameras.

We spent a lot of time at the Natural Balance booth.  Taking pictures, talking with friends (that I met when Jaz was on the show last year.)

If you missed that- here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lztKNisz_IY

I got to interview our friends Karen (and her scooter riding dog Norman).  As well as Ron (and his famous skateboarding riding dog Tillman!)

They showed little clips of our interview on the show!

Here's the full episode in case you weren't able to watch it.  (It was on the Hallmark channel last Friday.)

Jaz is on TV Fri!! #WhoLetTheDogsOut

I'm so excited!

Jasmine is going to be on Season 2 of "Who Let The Dogs Out"!  :D
(THIS Fri. Feb 8th- on the Hallmark channel!)

Jasmine and I were on this show last season too!  Last year, they had a trick talent contest, and we were flown out to Universal Studios, California to perform live for the finale!

Here's the video if you missed it:

We actually came in 2nd place (even though they didn't show it on the finale.)  It was SO MUCH FUN!!  Jaz and I have been all over the country performing for different TV shows, but I can honestly say that our experience on "Who Let The Dogs Out" was the best of them all!  It was so fun, and everyone was so nice!!  We became friends with Karen (and Norman).  And Ron (and Tillman).  I don't get star-struck meeting celebrities.  But I do get star-struck meeting celebrity dogs!!  I didn't know how they would be.  But they are both SUPER SUPER nice people.  They just made it such a great experience!  We had a blast!

Then in June, Jasmine and I were speakers at the BlogPaws convention.  (Giving a presentation about "How To Make Your Dog A YouTube Rockstar!).   Natural Balance was there.  (Which means our friends Norman and Tillman were there!)  It was fun seeing them again!  We got to interview them, and Natural Balance recorded it.  And I found out they are going to use it on the show!

So be sure to watch "Who Let The Dogs Out" THIS FRIDAY, FEB 8th- and you can see the interviews and find out what BlogPaws is all about!   :D

Happy Labor Day! (I'm working on trick dog videos!) ;)

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Labor Day for me is a paid holiday off from work- of which I spent 6 hours editing a dog trick video!!!

Back in April, I had the idea to put together a compilation video of Dogs Playing Basketball.

I am connected (through Facebook) to trick dogs all over the world, and I asked them to send me clips of their dogs playing basketball.  I received clips of 21 different dogs from all over the USA, Switzerland, England, Canada, and Australia.  And I intended to edit them all into one video.

But then Jaz and I flew to California to be on "Who Let The Dogs Out".  (A show on Animal Planet.)

Then in May, we flew to New York to be on "Good Morning America".

Then in June, we flew to Utah to speak at the "BlogPaws" convention.

And I can't even remember what happened in July and August!  (Not to mention, I'm busy with my regular job, friends, and family!)

So, long story short: this got put on the back burner!

But now- I'm rejunivated to attempt it again!  LOL.

I'm excited because I'm ALMOST DONE!!  :D   (Now I can only hope I don't have trouble uploading it to YouTube!!)  ;)

So- in the meantime- here's a teaser to get you by until I finish the video:

Therapy Dog once again!

Now I remember why I LOVE to volunteer as a therapy dog team.

Prior to tonight, I haven't volunteered in months.  At first it was because life was so hectic, I hadn't finished the renewal process.  And then once Jasmine got recertified, I was so busy with our travels that I just hadn't had time!

March/April was our participating on the Animal Planet show "Who Let The Dogs Out'.  (Which was a ton of fun!)  This ended with performing live at Universal Studios for the finale.

The month of  May was our trip to New York to be on Good Morning America.  (in addtion to local news stations.)  And last but not least, we just got home from a wonderful trip to Utah where we were speaking at the BlogPaws conference.

So, we really have been really busy.  But I've missed it.  So tonight we went.  And as usual, there was just something special about it.  The most memorable was a 2 1/2 year old girl named Bella. (I make my rounds on the pediatic/oncology floors.)  As I was going from room to room, I could hear a little kid crying very loudly.  The nurses take them to a separate room to do blood draws, treatment, etc.  She was having a rough time.  By the time she came out of the room, she was screaming.

Her mom was holding her, and they were going across the hall to go pick out a new toy.    It was very drastic.  She went from crying very loudly to suddenly quiet.  It was when she saw Jasmine.  I was pushing her on her cart down the hall.  The little girl just stared at us.  As I came closer, I asked "Do you like doggies?"

The mom said yes, they had a dog at home.  Bella pet Jasmine, and watched enchanted as we did our little trick show routine.  And she laughed.  Because we were in the hall, more people gathered around to watch Jaz.  One 4 year old was imitating the tricks I was asking Jasmine to do.  It was quite amusing.  Everyone was smiling or chuckling.  By the end, Bella had completely forget about her previous experience.  The entire situation was turned around.  All because of one little furry dog.  What a difference a dog can make.

That's why I like to volunteer with Jasmine.  It reminds me of the Emily Dickinson poem,
"I Shall Not Live In Vain".

"If I can stop one Heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain
If I can ease one Life the Aching
Or cool one Pain
Or help one fainting Robin
Unto his Nest again
I shall not live in Vain."

Behind-the-Scenes footage of the "Who Let The Dogs Out" finale!

Being on the finale of "Who Let The Dogs Out" was SO MUCH FUN!!   Here's the footage my very awesome brother recorded for me!!  :D

Award Time!

For those of you who were not able to catch the finale of "Who Let The Dogs Out" on Animal Planet... no worries!  I have some behind-the-scenes footage, I just need to finish editing it and upload it to YouTube!

It's nice that I can actually talk about it!!  They flew us to California to perform at Universal Studios in March!  But then I had to keep the results a secret for almost 2 months!!  That was hard!!! We had a blast there!  We met so many cool people, and awesome trick dogs!!   At the finale, they selected 2 finalists to have a show-down.  The final 2 were Jasmine and Daisy.  Then at the very end, Daisy won!   (And I was perfectly happy with 2nd place!)  I was just impressed that Jasmine did all her tricks!  Sometimes when she's in a new place, with new sights/smells, she gets easily distracted!   So I was proud of her for staying focused!  Jasmine won a giant gift basket (pictured above), and 6 months of Natural Balance dog food!  :)

When the showed the finale on TV, they cut out the show-down between Daisy and Jasmine.  They showed all the semi-finalists, then jumped right to the end, and showed the winner.  But that's okay.   It was just cool to be on the show!!

Jasmine also received another award in the mail this week!  Last fall, one of Jasmine's trick videos (Dog Goes Shopping) was entered in a doggy version of the Academy Awards. (The Anipal Academy Awards).  And she won for Best Comedy!
Here she is with her cute little trophy! :)

(And as you can tell from the 2 pictures, Jaz got a haircut!)  :)

If you haven't seen the full-length version of "Dog Goes Shopping"- here it is:

Behind the Scenes of "Who Let The Dogs Out"

Ever seen "Who Let The Dogs Out" on Animal Planet? (Saturday mornings?) Well, Jasmine was chosen to be one of the finalists!!

Tillman and his friends have traveled all over the country to find America's Most Talented Pet! And Jasmine was chosen to go to California to be one of the finalists performing live at Universal Studios!!

I can't even tell you how much fun it was!!! If you've never seen Jaz's tricks before... click here to see her trick resume. And you'll get a little preview of what we did in California!

Getting there was a little bit of a challenge! I had to fly to Cali with ALL of Jasmine's props! (Minus the mini fridge! I thought it was wise to leave that at home!!) ;) So I had A LOT of luggage!!

5 pieces of luggage! (included a big tub loaded with her stuff!) I'm sure the security guys at the airport were perplexed as to why I would have a full size mailbox in my suitcase!! ;) The truth is... I only packed one outfit, PJ's, hair stuff, and make-up. ALLLLLL the rest of that stuff was Jasmine's!! She's kind of high maintenance when we travel!! ;)

Her shopping cart wheel got a little damaged on the flight over, but I was able to fix it before the next morning. (Quick trip to the store to buy some Gorilla Glue!!) Luckily, it worked!!

We had such a fantastic time! I wasn't viewing it as a competition. I was just going to have fun, meet some awesome dogs, and share some of Jaz's fun tricks!

I was super excited to meet Tillman, the skateboarding dog!! The sun was in their eyes, that's why both dogs are squinting! I have been a fan of Tillman's ever since he was on the show "Greatest American Dog"!
I've been following him ever since! It was SO COOL to actually meet him in person!!

And we met Norman the scooter dog!! He's huge!! (Well, compared to Jaz!) But very nice!! Just a big boy who loves attention!

There was an open set at Universal Studios, so that meant anyone could come and watch the taping
of the show.

So my brother and nephew came to watch!! It was really great having them there to talk to! It made it more casual... so I wasn't as nervous!

I have never filmed a TV show before, but basically it's a lot of standing around... waiting for your turn! So we had fun with it. I talked with the other finalists, and we took pictures with our dogs. There were so many cool people and awesome dogs there!! I wish it didn't have to come to an end!

I didn't know what to expect when I met the cast of "Who Let The Dogs Out"... but they were all SOOOO NICE!!! VERY Friendly.... just regular, down-to-earth people. I like that!! And they all loved dogs... so of course that makes me like them even more!

When it was our turn to perform, Jaz did pretty good! I was very happy with our performance.

There were a few hiccups... but nothing big. The ground was slightly slanted, so all the skateboarding dogs went really fast! But when Jaz was pushing her shopping cart, it got away from her one time! LOL

And during another trick, Jaz was supposed to bring me a Kleenex. She picked it up, but then dropped it, and the wind blew it away! She started to go after it, and I had to call her back so she could just get a new one!

And Jaz has also been having a lot of problems with her allergies. (Spring time brings out the itchiness!)
So when I asked Jaz to "roll up in the blanket", she sat there and itched for about 30 seconds!! Then she did it! (I'm hoping they cut that part out when they edit it!!) LOL.
But other than that... Jaz did all her tricks. I was proud of her. :)

There were a lot of talented dogs there. I can't tell you much about it... other than it's going to be awesome!! I can't wait to see it! Because I was back-stage, I didn't get to see all the other dogs perform. So I'm looking forward to watching it on TV too!!

The season finale of "Who Let The Dogs Out" airs on Sat. April 21st on Animal Planet!! You'll have to keep an eye out for Jasmine!! :D

Jasmine's New Trick Resume!

Jasmine has a new trick video!! This is all the tricks she knows so far... as of March 2012. :)

But I'm always open to new suggestions! If you think of any new tricks I should teach Jaz, please let me know!! My friend just loaned me her son's old skateboard, so I'm excited to try that out!

Who Let The Dogs Out- part 1

I finally got the video uploaded of Jasmine's appearance on "Who Let The Dogs Out" (episode 3).

Jasmine I were invited to go to California to be part of the finale!! I was excited about this!!

I have a ton of pics that I need to upload! We had a blast!! There were a lot of talented dogs there! "Who Let The Dogs Out" is on every Saturday morning on Animal Planet! I think the finale airs on April 21st! Be sure to keep an eye out for Jasmine!! :D

What's our best dog trick?

Jasmine and I are going to California to be a part of the finale of "Who Let The Dogs Out"- a new show on Animal Planet!! They are searching for America's most talent pet!

I need suggestions! Jaz can do a ton of tricks... and we won't have time to do them all! We will only have a few minutes in front of the judges! Which tricks should we do??

"Who Let The Dogs Out" airs every Saturday morning on Animal Planet. And the finale is April 21st! Keep an eye out for Jasmine!!

I'm so excited to go and meet all other other cool trick dogs! It's going to be a lot of fun!! :D

Prepping for our trip to Cali! :D

Since we were chosen to be a finalist on the show "Who Let The Dogs Out", we get to go to California to be on the finale! :D (It's on Animal Planet on Saturday mornings.)

We're getting ready for our big trip! There's so much to do!! It took me a lot of searching to find a container big enough to ship most of Jasmine's props! I finally found this over-sized bin. But it was like playing Tetris trying to figure out how to get all the stuff to fit in it!!

I was quite proud with the end result!! MOST of it fit... Not the keyboard, the mailbox cover, or a few other little things. But most of it's in there! :D

(I'm obviously not bringing the mini fridge!!) I wouldn't do that to the poor mailman! ;)

As you can see from this picture, Jaz isn't real thrilled that I had to bubble wrap her cart!! She can't figure out what I'm doing with all her stuff!!

One day I'll get a fancy container for all this. In the meantime, we'll just have to make do with our plastic tub! :D (and just tape the lid on super well!!!!) :D

Jaz practiced being in her airline carry-on... so it won't be so foreign when we have to do it again! Last time we flew, it was to go to Atlanta for Barkworld last October. This should be a much easier and shorter trip!

I'm getting excited!! (And a little nervous!!!) But either way, it's going to be a lot of fun. :) I can't wait!! :D

Dogs Eating Peanut Butter!

I came across this old video of Jaz and Toddy, and it made me smile. So I thought I'd share it! Now you know why I called Jasmine "Lizard Tongue!" ;)

Dogs Eating Peanut Butter- One Bite Lasts All Day!! ;)

Don't forget-, TOMORROW (Saturday) is going to be Jaz's debut on "Who Let The Dogs Out"! (on Animal Planet!) I'm pretty excited!!!

We Won the #TillmanTV Tues Blog Hop!!!

WHOA!! We just won the Tillman Tuesday Blog Hop!! That's pretty cool!!! (Considering I haven't won a random drawing since the 7th grade!!) ;)

If you don't know who Tillman is... maybe this picture will help you out! Even if you don't know his name, he's pretty well-known as the skate-boarding dog!

We won 30 lbs of Natural Balance dog food (which is AWESOME, because that's actually what I'm feeding Jaz right now anyway!) She has bad allergies, so she's on the Limited Ingredient Diet. (L.I.D.) We also won a case of Tillman treats, AND the best part...

Jaz gets to donate 100 lbs of Natural Balance pet food to a no-kill shelter!!

We picked "Friends for Life". It's a rescue group here in AZ. Last October, we attended an adoption event called "Barktoberfest"! Which was really fun. They had a costume contest, and a trick contest. (Which of course we entered!) :D

Here's a picture I found from the trick contest that day! That shaggy little dog needs a haircut!! :O)

And they had lure-coursing, which Jaz goes crazy for!! So she ran that a few times. She's part greyhound if there's any type of lure-course around!

Anyway, I'm so happy that Natural Balance is helping out all these shelters/ rescue groups. It's pretty cool. (And I really like that you have to pick a no-kill shelter to donate to.) :) Tillman and Natural Balance are going to have more give-aways, so be sure you enter your blog!!

Go to Tillman's blog: http://www.tillmanskates.com/ and add your blog post on Tuesday. That's it. It's so easy! If we can win it, there's hope for anybody!! LOL

Who Let The Dogs Out

Tomorrow (Sat. Feb. 18th) is a big day!!

Saturday is the first episode of "Who Let The Dogs Out". (A new show on Animal Planet.) Tillman (the skateboarding dog) is trying to find America's Most Talented Pet! http://www.wholetthedogsout.tv/

AND.... Jasmine is going to be on the show!! !! :D And so are a lot of other very cool dogs we know from YouTube and Facebook!! Did you see Paige at the end of the commercial?? We LOVE that dog!! :D

I'm so excited to watch this series!! You know what a big dog-lover/addict I am! So I'm excited to see all the different breeds of dogs. I'm excited to see all the different kind of cool tricks they are going to do. And I'm excited that Jasmine gets to be included as one of them!!

I used to watch the TV show "PetStar" a long time ago... and loved seeing all the dog tricks back then! Watching that made me want to train my new dog (Jasmine) to do tricks! But by the time she got good enough to actually be ON the show, they quit making them!! :/ But.... "Who Let The Dogs Out" is going to be the next best thing!

Natural Balance and Petco held live auditions in California earlier this month, which we were unable to attend. But they let people send in video auditions. I have a lot of friends that attended the live auditions, and I have a lot of trick dog friends who sent in videos.

SO.... this is going to be the best show ever!! :D So many cool, talented dogs!!! I can't wait!! :D

Jaz on TV in England again! :D

This has been the month for international doggy appearances! Jasmine was on TV in Japan again yesterday, and the footage is really cute! (My friend Miki recorded it for me!) My brother speaks Japanese, so he's going to translate it! But it looks really funny!

And my friend Hannah (from London) sent me this footage of Jasmine on the BBC show "Who Let The Dogs Out?" (Which I'm really grateful for!) Otherwise I would never have been able to see this!

Jaz is on TV in ENGLAND! :)

Jaz was on TV in ENGLAND!! (On the BBC show "Who Let the Dogs Out?") Although- because I live in the USA, I can't watch it online.

Luckily, my friend Hannah N' Saffy (on Facebook) was able to record this clip for me! (THANK YOU HANNAH!!!) :D I really wanted to see it!

Jaz is going to be on that show several more times. (A big scene with her pushing the shopping cart!) (Or pushing the trolley- like they say in England!) So- if you are live in England or Scotland, will you PLEASE tell me when Jasmine is on?? And if you can, record it for me?

If you live there, here's the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b015frl0/Who_Let_the_Dogs_Out_Back_Stall_Dogs/

I'm not sure when it's actually on TV. But if you see her, you can email me at superkeej@hotmail.com. Thank you my friends!!!
