Jaz is in the Peanuts Movie Promo!!

I think this is the closest Jasmine will ever come to being in a movie!

I'm so proud of Jaz!   She is featured in the new Peanuts Movie promo in the UK!!

Keep an eye out for the dog riding the scooter with the boy, and also the dog playing the keyboard with the toddler!  (Around 0.26 seconds into it.)   That's Jasmine!!!  :)  :)

I think all the dogs in it are super cute!!  This just turned out adorable!

Friends For Life - Snoopy & Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie from Fabula London on Vimeo.

The marketing company found Jasmine's clips on YouTube, and asked me if I had videos of kids and dogs together.  (Going along with the theme "Friends for Life".)  I didn't have a lot to choose from since most of our videos are just of dog tricks.  So I went out and filmed some new footage and sent it to them.  And they ended up choosing 2 clips to use! I was so excited!!

Pets Got Talent!!

Jasmine has been on quite a few TV shows.  But now I'm super excited to say we can add "Kathie Lee and Hoda" to our list!  (Part of the Today show!)  :)  :)   They had a little segment called "Pets Got Talent!"  And as you can see from the screen shot above- they picked Jaz for the covershot!   :)

If you missed seeing her on the Today show, here's a clip from the show!

Merry Christmas!!

Who is almost ready for Christmas??   (We're not!)    But to get me in the holiday spirit, I decided to post some pics of Jaz and one of her most popular videos "Dog Saves Christmas!"  (This video always gets really popular around December- with a ton of comments.)

One of the more amusing trains of conversation revolved around Jasmine only delivering one present to a house that had two dogs!  And they wanted to know if that other dog was naughty.   To tell you the truth, I didn't even notice that until someone pointed it out!!   You'll notice from all the blooper footage at the end that sometimes you're just lucky to get what you get!  And you have to piece it together to make it work!!  I have a basic story line idea in my head, but nothing too elaborate!   So, to answer their question, I don't know!  I never thought about it before now!!  ;)

Merry Christmas to my friends all over the world!  May you be filled with the peace, love, and joy that comes this time of year.

Jaz is in the Huffington Post!!

LOL... sometimes I'm clueless.

One of Jasmine's videos started getting a lot of attention- (the 45 Cute Dog Tricks one that I mentioned before)  And I wasn't sure where it was all coming from!  It's had over 20,000 new views in the last 24 hours!  (which is unusual for us!)  I mean... Jaz is popular... but not THAT popular!!

Finally, I was able to solve the mystery!  I discovered that a Spanish version of the Huffington Post used one of her videos in an article!

I used google translate and found out what they said:

"For most dog owners like to teach their pets tricks, but few animals have the talent of Jasmine. Sure, the Havanese is a breed that is known for being highly intelligent and easy to train. Click on the video and enjoy this adorable dog doing 45 of his best thanks. If you want more of it, follow it on Twitter."
.....

So then I posted on Jasmine's Facebook page that I had solved the mystery and this was where all the views were coming from.  Well then one of Jasmine's fans posted the comment- "there's an English version as well!"

Oh duh!   That would make sense!  LOL... it's a good thing I have lots of friends to tell me what's going on!!!!

My favorite part is that when you "like" the article- this is what it posts on Facebook.... "We Get It Doggie, You're Better Than Us."   LOL!!!!

That part cracks me up!!   I'm really happy that the article mentioned that Jasmine was trained using positive reinforcement.  Because sometimes people give me a hard time about forcing my dog to do these tricks.  (Which is ENTIRELY untrue.)  If Jaz doesn't want to do tricks, we don't do them.  However 99% of the time (unless she's really tired) she REALLY WANTS to do tricks!!  (Because that's how she earns yummy treats!!)  And she is VERY treat motivated!!  And she's very smart!  (You just have to ask my mom- who was watching her while I was out of town.)  Jaz is a little too smart!  She figured out how to open the kitchen cabinet door and dump the garbage can!  (Which is why it now has baby locks on it!)  LOL.

But all-in-all, she's a very very sweet dog.  And I'm glad more people get to see her trick videos.  Because that's more people she can help make smile and laugh.  And bring her own little ray of sunshine into this world...  :)

WHY do we want to go to #Barkworld??

WHY do we want to go to BARKWORLD??

I think a more appropriate question would be WHY WOULDN'T you want to go to BARKWORLD?!  :D

BARKWORLD IS AWESOME!  If you've never heard of it, it's a pet social media convention held in Atlanta, GA.  This year it's in August.

They have classes that help you become more social media savvy.  (And don't worry- they have beginning to advanced level classes... something for everyone.)   (And the skills I learn at these conferences help me in my regular full time job too!)   It's an INCREDIBLE place for networking with other pet companies and pet lovers.

If you don't know my dog Jasmine, she's a talented trick dog.  We've been to the past 2 BarkWorld's.  (2011 and 2012)

My first year at BarkWorld, we taught a class called "How To Make Your Pet a YouTube Rockstar".  (Since Jasmine's popularity took off when I created her original YouTube video "Dog Goes Shopping"... which is now up to 222,590 views!)   And from there, Jaz became well known on social media, and now has a very loyal following of friends all over the world!

Jaz actually got several opportunities to be on TV because of connections we made!  (She perfomed her dog tricks on Animal Planet's "Who Let The Dogs Out" and the Anderson Cooper show..... all because of connections we made at BarkWorld!)

And now... we're trying to get back to BarkWorld again!  The expo is Aug. 22-24th, 2013.

And Pruven from 3M is sponsoring one lucky blogger to go!
But I need your help!

Here's an easy way to help send Jasmine back to BarkWorld!  Tweet at BarkWorld (and Pruven) that you would like them to pick My Favorite Pup Jasmine to send to Atlanta!  Or write it on their Facebook page!  (I made a Rafflecopter thingy just to make it simple)  There's no prizes involved, but I really would appreciate your help!  (and I didn't write any terms & conditions since it is just a friend helping out a friend!)  And there's no limit to the # of times you can contact them, and encourage them to pick Jasmine!

P.S.  In case you are still curious about BarkWorld, here's a teaser video I made about our trip out there!  We loved it!!!  :)  :)  :)

#BarkWorld, ready or not, here we come!

I can't believe it's only one more day until we leave for BarkWorld!!!  (This is a little teaser video I made of our trip last year!)

I was so thrilled when I found out Natural Balance and Petco were sponsoring Jasmine's trip out to Atlanta for BarkWorld 2012!!

We attended last year, and had a blast!!   Last year, we gave a presentation on "How To Make Your Dog A YouTube Rockstar" along with our best friends Lauren and Paige.  Sadly, our partners-in-crime can't be there this year because of work obligations.   But NEXT year 2013- we'll have our reunion!!  :)

This year, we get to just enjoy the conference!!  (I'm sure I'll remember so much more when I'm not worried about giving a presentation!)  LOL

This year, I'm going to try to keep updating my blog/Facebook/Twitter a little better than last year.  (I kind of know what to expect this year!)

If you want to stay in touch, here's our info!

Happy 96th Birthday!!! :D

Boy, oh boy, Jasmine and I have had a busy month!!   Last week, we performed at a retirement center for this lady's 96th birthday!  I can't even tell you how much fun we had.  We did about a 30 minute trick show that showcased the majority of Jasmine's resume.  (Minus the tricks that had heavy props- like getting a drink from the fridge!)
They got such a kick out of Jasmine's little tricks.  It was so fun!  Then I took her around and let each resident pet her, and we talked about the pets they used to have.  It was so sweet.  There was a lot of animal lovers in the audience.   I also passed out Jasmine's card to everyone- so they could remember what she looked like.

When I approached one lady, she was smelling the card.  When I got to her, she asked me what the card was.  She wanted to know if it was perfume?  (That's when I realized this lady was blind.)
I said "No, that's a picture of my dog Jasmine!"
She said "Oooh!  I love dogs!!"
I said, "Well, I have my dog right here, would you like to pet her?"
"Oh yes please!"
I took her hand and placed it on Jasmine's back.  The lady was so thrilled.  She just smiled and smiled while stroking Jasmine.  It was the sweetest experience.  She was so happy to be petting a dog again.
And Jasmine is such a good sport.  She let everyone pet her, and still begged to do more tricks.  (to get more treats!)   This was how we ended the show:
What a great experience.  And I have to say THANK YOU to my friend Stacy- who came to help me.  I don't know what I'd do without her!  She ALWAYS comes whenever she can to help me with my Jasmine gigs.  She's so awesome.

I had posted on Facebook that we were performing at this lady's birthday party... and Stacy jokingly wrote "Can I come?"  (Even though I had already asked to have her come with me!)  I wrote back jokingly...

"Ummm... I don't know. I'm going to have to look over your resume to see if you qualify. Do you have any past experience working with a trick dog? I need someone who can juggle being Jasmine's stage manager, remembering her tricks, prompting me, helping me with props, giving me driving directions and being my navigator when I'm lost, and being Jasmine's personal assistant, not to mention my moral support and encouragement. On top of that, I need someone with a super friendly, caring, cheerful personality who is great with people. But can also be our expert photographer and videographer. It's a complicated job! Hmmm..... although looking over your resume here, I see you do have excellent references and personal recommendations. Ok- yep, you're absolutely perfect. You're hired. You can come."   LOL

Stacy and Jasmine both help bring a lot of joy to this world.  And I'm just along for the ride.  :)

P.S.  Yes, I did get video.  (Stacy did.)  But life has been so busy, I have not even had time to look at it!!

Jasmine the Therapy Dog visits an elementary school!

Last Friday, Jasmine and I got to go to an elementary school and
do a presentation for all the 3rd Grade classes!
They had just finished reading the book "Rosie the Visiting Dog"-
and then they got to meet a real life therapy dog!
If Jasmine went to this school, I bet she'd be the teacher's pet!  ;)
Jasmine demonstrating her "Be Shy" trick.
Jasmine is showing her "Cowboy Trick" to all the kids.
After our trick demonstration, we had Q & A.  Then each kid got to pet Jasmine and received a card with her picture on it.  (The same ones we get from the hospital to pass out to the patients.)
Sure, I can get the dog to look at the camera.
But how do you get all the kids to do the same??
 Beats me!

We did this last year too, and had such a blast.
It was so fun being invited back again this year!

I didn't get any video this year because my friend was unable to come.   But here's the video from last year's demo!  Maybe next year we'll get another video with the kids!

Jaz obviously prefers to work solo!! ;)

While trying to train a new trick, I discovered something....  Jaz prefers to work alone!  ;)

Obviously, sometimes I train Jasmine, and sometimes she trains me.  That's how I trick train.  I set out with something in mind.  But in the process, if Jaz wants to do some different new behavior... well, that's fine too.  :)   We learn together.

I got some great comments on Jasmine's YouTube Channel.  But my favorite one was written by feisty2day:

"No matter what kind of day I have had, watching Jaz always makes me smile. Thanks for sharing her with the rest of us. Love You Jasmine!!"

:)  I couldn't have said it any better myself.  It's the same with me.  No matter what kind of day I've had, Jaz can always make me smile!  :)

Behind-the-Scenes footage of the "Who Let The Dogs Out" finale!

WOW.  What can I say.  Wonderful people.  Super talented dogs.  What an awesome experience!

Being on the finale of "Who Let The Dogs Out" was SO MUCH FUN!!   Here's the footage my very awesome brother recorded for me!!  :D
