Addition Pet Foods Taste Test

After meeting with Addiction Pet Foods at Blogpaws this past summer, I agreed to do a product review.  This is not a paid review... they just sent me their dog food to see if my dogs like it.  Plain and simple. 

Last week, a box arrived on our doorstep.  The dogs get excited when anyone comes to the door, because they always assume it's for them.  This time it actually was.

You don't have to be a dog psychic to know they are thinking "open the box!!  Open the box!!"

The Addiction Pet Foods sent us some Salmon Blue dry food, a portable water bowl, and a fuzzy squeaky bone!

I totally thought Jaz would go for the food first.  But nope, she wanted to get that fuzzy squeaky bone before Chewy did.  (He's not allowed to have fuzzy toys, because he destroys them!)

Jasmine, however, was quite content squeaking her new toy.  (Seriously, soft squeaky bones are her favorite things ever.)

Around dinner time, it was time to sample the cuisine.  (Can you see Chewy's tail wagging in this picture??)  :D

Jaz is normally a picky eater.  And I did tell her to "stay", so I could get a picture of what the food looks like.  But after that, she dove right in.  I think we found a winner.

Chewy was next.  I have to feed the dogs separately, otherwise they only care about what's in the other dog's bowl.

Chewy liked it too.  

There's a lot of dog food companies out there.  The reason I agreed to try this one was because they are holistic and use unique proteins in their foods.  Such as salmon, kangaroo, eel, free-range venison, and brushtail.  (Can you tell this company is based out of New Zealand??)  :D

In general, I will only give my pups high quality food.  So I was impressed with this one.  All in all... we give Addiction Dog Foods two paws up!  :)

Got Dirty Car Seats?

If you have dogs, more than likely the backseat of your car has seen a lot of use.  Jaz doesn't shed, but she likes to play and get her paws dirty.  Chewy is constantly leaving hair everywhere!    Sometimes, it seems like it's impossible to keep my car clean.  

One time after I just washed and vacuumed out my car, I took my dogs with me to my friend's house.  But this time, I wouldn't let them run around with their dog in the yard.  Why?  Because it had rained recently, and I wasn't about to put muddy dogs in my clean car! 

So...fast-forward two months.  Kurgo contacts me and asks if I would like to do a product review on their car seat covers.  I was thrilled!!  Oh yeah!  I already had a Kurgo dog harness, which I absolutely LOVE.  So I was pretty confident their car seat covers would live up to my expectations!   And no surprise there... they do!  

They have bench seat and bucket seat covers, each with different neutral color options.

So, I tried to get Chewy to model for the photo shoot.  He doesn't know how to smile when I have a camera pointed at him.  He just stares at me!  I even had a treat in my hand!

Jaz on the other hand is ALWAYS willing to model for a treat!

The Kurgo Car Seat Covers were super easy to install.  Some loops went over the headrests, and a bungee cord under the seat.  There was an optional buckle that went behind it was well.  It took me literally 2 minutes to install.  Easy and simple.

Just like their other products, I was very satisfied with the quality and durability of the fabric.  (Especially since this has to outlast Chewy!)  They have extended width versions as well if you need that for your vehicle.  They all come with a LIFETIME warranty.  :)

What's a Kurgo??

Over the past few years, Jaz and I have been asked to review a lot of products.  Dog food, toys, clothes, treats, etc.  And a lot of them are good.  But this is honestly the first thing I've reviewed that has been great!

I can't say enough good things about our new Kurgo dog harness!  It's a regular harness (for dog walks), but also is a car restraint harness.  (Seat belt for dogs.)  Now I've had a doggy seat belt before, and it was very complicated, and eventually I just quit using it.   But this Kurgo harness is so easy!!  First of all- it's a body harness, which you can use for just regular walks.  Then when it's time to go in the car, you just attach a loop to a seat belt, and clip the carabiner to the harness.  Voila.  Done.

And this Tru-Fit Dog Harness is sturdy.   It was crash safety tested at the University of Michigan, at an accredited National Highway and Transportation Administration Lab, using Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.    Long story short- it's worth it!

I seriously love it.  Jaz has been on a ton of car trips with all our travels.  I wish I had this a long time ago.  (Especially since it can double as a body harness and a seat belt!)   I need to get one for Chewy.  He usually rides in the back of my SUV.  But sometimes he'll jump the seats to get closer to us.  He needs a Kurgo dog harness badly!

Kurgo is made of high quality materials, and it's easy to use.    What's not to love?  It comes in two colors- red or black.

Brown Beggers Treats... Jaz tested, Jaz approved.

 For those of you who know Jasmine, she's a treat ADDICT!  Yes, I am a responsible dog owner, and monitor the number of treats she gets.  However, that doesn't change the fact that she is rather obsessed with treats!   For example, these SitStay packages came while the dogs were out getting groomed.  When we got home, Toddy didn't even notice them.  Jasmine goes STRAIGHT to the packages and starts sniffing.  Then pawing at them.  I told her to sit while I opened it.  She just stared at the box. 

Obsessive much??

 I try to make sure my dogs are well trained and have manners.  But once I give the release word, it's go time!!

These are dog chews that you get delivered to your door by Brown Beggers.  We got to try out the Chew Sampler.  I didn't get a better picture because I was trying to make sure Jaz didn't just rip through the brown paper to get to the treats inside!

Here's all the chews that were inside.  (Toddy sat up and started begging for them while I was arranging them on the table.)

There were all sorts of different kind of bones, chews, dried meat patties, and jerky.  Jaz hardly knew which to pick first.  I let both dogs pick out their favorite treat.  They both walked to separate corners of the room and started chewing on them.  

 

 I thought this was amusing.  I couldn't figure out what was inside that long tube that was delivered to my door.  (Check out Toddy in the background!!!  He's trying to see if the chew treats were still on that table!!)  (For the record, I had moved them to higher ground!!)  

So... we figured out what was in the tube.  Turns out it was a 3 foot long beef stick!!!!   They do know my dog is only 1 foot long, right??
